JAMMU: President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to address the 14th Convocation of University of Jammu on September 1 here at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium.
“The President will address the Convocation and give away degrees and medals to 182 students of 2013 batch,” official sources here today said.
They said various committees have also been constituted for the smooth functioning of the preparations for the Convocation.
Meanwhile, police and the security wing took over the venue and put it under siege ahead of President’s visit. Tight security arrangements have been made while the security has also been beefed up in the campus premises.
Sources further said on September 16, a ‘Special Convocation’ will also be organised by the University of Jammu wherein Chancellor Governor N N Vohra and Pro Chancellor Chief Minister Omar Abdullah likely to distribute the degrees to the students from 2006 batch to 2012. (AGENCIES)
