JAMMU, Aug 4: Parents’ Association of Private Schools, Jammu has demanded that the private schools should collect previous months fee only after the final verdict of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of refund of fees.
Addressing the meeting of the Association, its president, Amit Kapoor said that the FFC is adopting double standards in fixing the fee structure of many schools for their own financial benefits. He criticized the authorities for giving ample time to private school managements to approach Supreme Court to get the J&K High Court order dated 18-03-2019 stayed, vice which the High Court had directed the private schools to refund excess feel along with interest at the rate of 9 percent.
The Association made a strong appeal to managements of all private schools of the State that after getting approval from the FFC, they should not pressurize the parents to pay whole of the precious months fee in one go. The parents said that schools may collect fee from that month only when the date of approval was sought from the FFC and the adjustments shall be made after the final verdict of Supreme Court in the matter of refund of fees.
