SRINAGAR, May 14: A pregnant woman was among 18 persons who tested positive for COVID-19 in Valley today taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally of COVID-19 positives to 993 including 892 from Kashmir.
Dr Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent of the SKIMS, told Excelsior that 3619 samples were processed at Viral Diagnostic Laboratory of SKIMS here and five tested positive. He said that among them four are from Kashmir and one from Jammu.
Four more from Kashmir valley tested positive at Dr Lal Path Private Lab in Srinagar. Out of eight who tested positive from Kashmir at SKIMS and Lal Path Lab, five are from Srinagar, two from Shopian and one from Pulwama.

Those from Srinagar include 29 year old woman from Rathpora area of Eidgah in Srinagar. She was under quarantine in IMPA Srinagar after reaching here on May from Manali. Another is woman from Lal Bazar area of Srinagar who travelled from Delhi. The third one is a woman from Eidgah area of Srinagar and a man from Nawakadal area of Srinagar who also travelled to Srinagar from Delhi. A -50-year old man from Kanipora area of Srinagar admitted at Super Speciality Hospital at Shireen Bagh Srinagar also tested positive for COVID-19.
The two persons who tested positive in Shopian include 25-year old woman from Heerpora village and a 28-year old man from Urpora village. They are contacts of COVID-19 persons and were under quarantine in District Hospital Srinagar.
A 25 year old pregnant woman from Durbgam in district Pulwama also tested positive.
Ten more persons tested positive for COVID-19 from Srinagar and Kupwara this evening from a private laboratory.
They include four women aged 31, 37, 40 and 16 from Hyderpora, Nawa Kadal, Alamgari Bazar and Nawakdal area of Srinagar respectively and equal number of men aged 35, 40, 40, 40 years from Alamgari Bazar, Srinagar, Chanpora and Parimpora areas respectively.
Two men aged 35 and 55 also tested positive from Kupwara district.
Nodel officer of Government Medical College Srinagar, Dr Mohammad Salim Khan told Excelsior that out of 748 samples processed at CD COVID-19 laboratory, none tested positive.
Nineteen COVID-19 patients recovered today and were discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir Division.
Out of 882 positive cases from Kashmir; Anantnag has 145 cases, Srinagar 150, Bandipora 134, Baramulla 110, Shopian 107, Kupwara 85, Budgam 52, Ganderbal 23, Kulgam 72 and Pulwama 14.
And till date 103290 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance. They included 26603 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by Government, 152 in Hospital Quarantine, 487 in hospital isolation and 12383 under home surveillance. Besides, 63654 persons have completed their surveillance period.
