It is heartening that the innovative system of hi-tech computerised pre-paid management system of hiring of ponies by the pilgrims , launched by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board last year has not only completed its one year successfully with quite encouraging results of adaptability but has become popular across the larger segments of the visiting devotees. As being pilgrim centric, this facility has been availed of by a large number of two million pilgrims in one year , a feat indeed. This facility is integrated , it may be recalled, with hiring palkies and pithoos as well.
Though sky is the limit in terms of making more such arrangements and facilities for the pilgrims, the CEO of the Board has reiterated his commitment to go in for more improvement in and additions to the entire gamut of providing facilities and comforts to the pilgrims .Technological interventions would not only serve the purpose but prove cost effective and more revenue earning. Besides, for obvious facility , the pre-paid counters for the purpose also serve as Grievances Registering Centres for the pilgrims which is a commendable decision. These counters have video- conferencing facilities for better and fast communications all leading to ensuring better facilities to the pilgrims.
