Prakash Utsav of Bhagat Kabir celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety across Jammu

JAMMU, June 13: The 616 Prakash Utsav of Bhagat Kabir was celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety all over Jammu region today. In this connection various functions and Shoba Yatras were taken by the devotees of this great saint of India who preached humanity, brotherhood and love throughout his life.
Bhagat Mahasabha J&K Unit organised a State level function to celebrate of 616th Prakash Utsav of Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb Ji here at Auditorium of Government Women College Gandhi Nagar today, in which follower/devotees of Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb ji from different parts of State and neighboring States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana  participated.
They paid homage to great Sant of Bakti Movement. People from the different areas reached at venue in the shape of jhankies by chanting slogan and bhajan of Sant Kabir. A satsang and kirtan was also held on the occasion by Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat , while singing the sabad dohe and sakhian of Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb,  swami Ji preached the Sangat to follow the teaching of Sant Kabir as only his teachings can bring Bhagat community out of backwardness & dark-age.
He appealed the Bhagat community to stop bad habits like drinking alcohol, smoking, dowery, etc. The family members of the Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath Ji where special invitees. Prof. Raj Kumar Bhagat National president Bhagat Mahasabha was the chief guest on the occasion. He appealed the people of Bhagat Samaj to unite on the one platform for proper upliftment of Samaj. Er. Pawan  Bhagat national vice president, Bhagat Mahasabha also spoke on the occasion and appealed the Sangat to shun the bad habits like smoking, drinking and dowry system. Mahinder Bhagat President Bhagat Mahasabha J&K unit suggest the Sangat to increase the mutual co-operation among the Samaj which is a need of hour for unity of Samaj. K K  Bhagat general secretary Mahasabha also spoke on the occasion and cautioned the people to be aware of the those who betrayed the Megh Samaj in past.  Bodh Raj Bhagat National vice president also addressed the Sangat and suggested some ideas for upliftment of Bhagat Samaj. Ramesh Chander Bhagat, vice President J&K Unit highlighted the achievement of Bhagat Maha Sabha in last six years. Mrs Chanchala Bhagat daughter of son of soil Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath put light on the life and struggle of her father. Others who spoke and address the gathering were Tarsem Bhagat treasurer Bhagat Mahasabha. Naresh Bhagat also attended the function.  More than 100 meritorious student of the Bhagat Samaj also honoured on the occasion. All office bearer of block committees of Bhagat Mahasabha, Panchs and Sarpanchs of the community were present on the occasion. Before concluding the celebration Guru Ka Langar served to the sangat.
All J&K Shri Sadh Guru Kabir Sabha celebrated ‘Kabir Jayanti’ on at its (State Headquater) Kabir Bhawan Chak-Avtara, Bishnah. The function was largely attended by the devotees/followers of Kabir Saheb from different parts of the State. The devotees moved in a shape of jhanki from Bari-Brahmna via Bishnah and finally gathered at Kabir Bhawan, Chak-Avtara, Bishnah.
The spiritual discourse was delivered by Baba Bhagwan Dass Ji, (Udhas Marg R.S. Pura) & Dina Nath Ji on the Bani of Saints with special reference to Kabir Bani. He explained the Sangat that Kabir was a living spirit of God & preached the inner richness of human values.
President of the Sabha, F.C. Bhagat while addressing the gathering said that Sant Kabir was a beacon of enlightment and spiritual attainment and his main thrust was on humanity by spreading the message of love, peace and tranquility. According to Kabir Sahib Bani, all human are equal and the only way to attain moksha depends on one’s karma & not the materialistic world.
Mula Ram (Ex Minister) & Chairman of the Sabha was the chief guest who appealed the community to reduce their unwanted expenses & provide best facilities to their children for their bright future. Among others who attended the function were Prof. Gharu Ram, MLA, R.S. Pura, K.C. Bhagat, MLA, Chenani, Sham Lal, MLC,  Chaman Lal, Ex MLA,  Yash Pal Bhagat,  Subhash Bhagat & Bhushan Bhagat (Political Leaders) and others.  At the end Guru Ka Langar was served to the Sangat.
Describing Sant Kabir as an epitome of righteousness, provincial President National Conference,  Devender Singh Rana said that his philosophy in verse will continue to guide humanity and help society to overcome the malice of hate and intolerance.
“Those who follow teachings of the greatest Sant will never do injustice with fellow beings or tolerate injustice”, he said while paying tributes to the greatest proponents of Bhakti Movement on his 616th Prakash Diwas at a function held at Kabir Mandir Old Rehari, organized by All Jammu and Kashmir Megh Sudhar Sabha.
Mr Rana said the best way of remembering the greatest Bhakti poet is to take a pledge to tread the path shown by him and work for the growth of harmonious society where people, irrespective of caste, creed or colour live a dignified life based on the well defined principles of humanity.
Mr Rana said that Omar Abdullah led Government is keen to see weaker sections flourish economically and academically. In this connection, several path breaking initiatives have been taken during the past five and half years, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman SC/OBC Cell of National Conference Babu Rampal paid glowing tributes to Sant Kabir and threw light on various facets of his life.
In his enlightened address to the congregation, Mr Narinder Bhagat hoped that people will follow the teachings of great gurus and work towards the betterment of society.
Reports coming from Kathie, Samba, Vijaypur, Bishnah, Udhampur and other towns of the province said that the day was celebrated with full enthusiasm and religious fervour by the devotees.
