Prabhakar Rao appointed as new NSAI president

NEW DELHI, Aug 9:  The National Seed Association of India (NSAI) today announced the appointment of Nuziveedu Seeds Chairman and Managing Director M Prabhakar Rao as its new president.
Rao was appointed at the annual general meeting of the seed companies body held on July 31 here, NSAI said in an statement.
Speaking on his appointment, Rao said, “I am honoured to have been bestowed with such responsibility, which gives me an opportunity to work towards regulatory issues faced by seed industry.”
Other members of NSAI, who have been appointed as office bearers, are M G Shembekar of Ankur Seeds as Vice President, Bhupen Dubey of UPL Advanta as General Secretary, K S of GEO Biotechnologies as Treasurer, among others.
NSAI has 238 seed companies, including private and public sector companies as its members. The association facilitates consultation among the members and the Government of India, state governments and different international agencies. (PTI)
