JAMMU, May 14: Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) has urged upon the Managing Director (MD), Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) to discourage media trial during inspections.
In a meeting of the Union held here today under the chairmanship of Shakti Gupta (patron), Sanjeev Bali (president) and Ajaz Kazmi (general secretary), the speakers said after taking over as MD of the Corporation, Yasha Mudgal has taken significant steps in improving the overall functioning of the Corporation of Jammu Province.
They observed that each team member is working day and night to keep best services to the common person during the ongoing pandemic and the media has in the recent times acknowledged the excellent work being conducted by Corporation.
“But we are pained to see that media was taken up along with the inspection team in the night hours last night which has dented the morale of the field staff who were present on duty at designated places in addition to where the inspection team already visited,” the speakers said and asserted that the role of media should be used to highlight the achievements of the Corporation.
The meeting appealed the MD on behalf of all the engineering and technical staff not to take the media during inspections as public at large gets an opportunity to make fun of the employees and derogatory words are used by public on social media on these videos. “Inspections are welcome but media trial can lead to lot of gap between management and staff which is detrimental to the overall objective of the corporations,” the meeting said.
