JAMMU, Dec 22: Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) today held a protest meeting to raise their issues.
The protestors warned to launch agitation in aggressive manner across the State owing to the adamant attitude of higher authorities pertaining to their demands.
The protest was held under the leadership of its chairman Shakti Gupta, president Sanjeev Bali and general secretary Ajaz Qazmi.
The speakers said that the ways adopted by the authorities are most resentful. They added that instead of first strengthening or rather establishing proper infrastructure for the system through ongoing improvement projects, they are resorted to unbundling of the department. Such hasty steps spell failure of the whole system, they stated.

An analytic view of the present way of planning things of the higher authorities shows an attempt to create confusion and a crude way to show existence. Such attempts are totally unacceptable and shall not be allowed. The warning from our side is very clear and if such hasty and unwarranted steps are continued a very strong protest would be launched across the State”, they added.
The speakers demanded that the officials who have been attached to be de-attached, regularization of 600 daily wagers, regular payment to need based employees and regular DPC in all cadre of categories.
