PPEU holds meet, highlights feeder managers’ plights

JAMMU, June 15: Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) held a meeting under the chairmanship of Shakti Gupta and discussed the problems being faced by the feeder managers of all cadres.
While speaking, Gupta said that the feeder manager has to maintain a desirable un-interrupted power supply on a under capacity, out-dated infrastructure, which requires an urgent renovation and up-gradation.
He added that the feeder managers work with the responsibility of shut down, thus implicating his presence at all the times especially during break-down.
He said that the any mishap on the feeder or associated distribution network gets attributed to the feeder manager concerned and he has to attend such emergency on his own expenses and even the legal proceedings are initiated against the feeder manager concerned to the extent of arrest even.
“Any material or works taken up under the system becomes a personal liability of the feeder manager and even as most urgent restoration works are posted as liability in feeder manager’s account”, he added.
“If the present work setup regarding the feeder managers in not corrected, then they will launch crusade against the Government” Gupta warned.
