PPEU discusses workers’ demands

JAMMU, Sept 1: One day conference of Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) was held under the chairmanship of Shakti Gupta, chairman of the Union, today.
The demands raised in conference included release of two and half days salary in respect of Non-gazetted staff upto the rank of JEs, regularization of casual/daily rated/need basis workers who have completed seven years service, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, issuance of promotion order of under promotion from junior to senior assistants who have cleared DPC and framing of proper norms for transfer policy.
They also demanded that special concession be provided to the employees of PDD on account of paying of their monthly charges on the analogy of neighbouring Central/State Government, promotion of technically qualified field staff on the basis of 50:50 from ITI and non ITI cadre as recommended by Chairman DPC and implementation of SRO 59 in Jammu province as per the court directions.
Others present in the conference included Sanjeev Bali, working president, Ajaz Qazmi, general secretary, Madan Gopal Gupta, senior vice president, Ram Lal, vice president, Manjeet Singh, district president, Jammu, Rajeev Sharma, Tejinder Dutta and Supinder Singh- vice president .
