JAMMU, Nov 26: Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID), Northern Region -II organized its annual Intra-Regional cultural festival titled “Abhivyakti-2023” at Chandigarh.
Executive Director, POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System (NRTS)-II, Rajesh Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion. He inaugurated the Cultural Meet whereas Sangita Kumar (patron, Shrishti Mahila Samiti, Northern Region-II) inaugurated the Handicrafts Exhibition by lighting the traditional lamp in presence of large number of guests, POWERGRID employees and their families.
Enthralling performances by the employees of POWERGRID NRTS-II and their family members from different parts of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, HP, Punjab and Haryana in colorful dresses marked the Festival, which was held last evening at SD College Auditorium, Chandigarh. It was a major event for the employees and their family members as amateur talent of the Region gathered to highlight their cultural traditions.
All the items in the programme, successfully managed to depict their themes from Naya Arambh by artists of Abdullapur Substation, Rab Rakha by Kaithal Substation, Pariyavaran ki Raksha Karen by artists of Kishenpur substation, electric circus by Kashmir group, Kaun Sahi Kaun Galat by the team of Chandigarh, Yak Tales by the debutant Team from Ladakh, Ghar Gum Hai by artists of Hamirpur to Chetawani by the troupe of Regional Office Jammu, all the items managed to spell bound the audience as they performed like thorough professionals.
Besides these, a traditional Handicrafts Exhibition comprising crafts, arts and fine arts, was also organized on the occasion.
At the end of function winners as well as participants of the event were presented trophies and mementos by the chief guest. In Handicrafts Exhibition, teams from Abdullapur Regional Head Quarters, Jammu, Moga and Kartarpur bagged first, second, third and consolation prizes, respectively.
Vinod P Baxla, General Manager (HR), NRTS-II delivered the welcome address whereas AH Khan, Senior GM (Punjab and Haryana) presented the vote of thanks.
