UDHAMPUR, Nov 13: Apni Party, Provincial president and former minister Manjit Singh today took on People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration while terming it an alliance of opportunist’s political parties which are struggling to regain the lost power in J&K.
The former minister said the regional political party has lost its ground from Kashmir where it had taken birth.
“They mislead people with their hollow slogans and on the name of greater autonomy garnered votes,” said Manjit Singh while speaking at a public meeting in Udhampur district.
During public meeting, a large number of people joined Apni Party expressing faith in the policy and agenda of the party of uniting the two regions and promoting brotherhood among the communities.
“NC was a silent spectator in the Parliament when Art 370 was abrogated in presence of their MPs. They have two faces, one in Delhi and another in Kashmir to purely mislead the people of J&K,” the former minister added.
Manjit Singh said that the Apni Party has come into being only to truthfully represent the people without misleading or biasness among regional or religious identities.
“The political parties in PAGD have joined hands to save each other’s political survival. They know what role they had played in J&K’s politics in 70 years. Their autonomy and self-rule has cost heavily to the survival of a royal state,” he added.
Manjit said that “The Apni Party does not play divisive policies. Under Party’s president Altaf Bukhari, the Apni Party believes in politics of truthfulness.”
He questioned them for their silence on the suffering of people in the Valley. “It is not NC or other political parties of Kashmir, but BJP is also on the same track and both the political parties have an understanding to keep the pot boiling for their politics,” he said.
Prominent among those who joined Apni Party included Kewal Sharma, Sansar Chand, Karan Singh, Kaka Singh, Ganesh Singh, Rashpal Singh, Babu Ram, Sohan Lal, Madan Sharma, Shiv Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Dr Sanjay Kumar and others.
