JAMMU, July 29: Members of Provincial Electric Employees Union (Jammu) held demonstration and day long protest program at Janipur Power Station here today.
The protest program was organised by its unit president, Deep Sharma and his team and it was chaired by Provincial president, PC Sharma. The speakers projected the long pending demands of the Power employees.
The main demands included, regularization of daily wagers, retrospective effect to already regularized 1305 daily wagers at par with other 60,000 regularised daily wagers in terms of SRO-64 of 1994, amendment in service recruitment rules of PDD 381 of 1981, reorganization of the Department , conduct of DPC at all level, allotment of proper designation to the workers as per nature of job assigned and take initiative to vacate the stay imposed on the DPC Tech-III to II.
The employees expressed their resentment by raising slogans against PDD authorities.
PC Sharma while speaking on the occasion, said that Union has conducted several meetings with the senior officers and discussed all the genuine issues of the employees but till today nothing has been done for their redressal. He said the PDD employees in Kashmir enjoy all the facilities including their timely promotion , regular conduct of DPC etc but the workers from Jammu region are victimized. He demanded that employees of both the region be treated equally because the state is one.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included -Pawan Kumar, Darshan Singh, Rajan Singh, Ashok Padha, Parshotam Sharma, Ajit Singh and Ashwani Kumar.
