SAMBA, Apr 2: Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, the owners of poultry farms are not getting feed for poultry birds for last many days due to which they are facing lot of trouble but the administration is in deep slumber and has failed to find the solution to their problem.
According to the report, for last seven days, after the lockdown has been announced the poultry farm owners are not getting feed for their birds which will result into the death of these birds if they can’t get feed for more days.
The owners of these poultry farms said that their business has come to standstill after lockdown and even they don’t get feed for their birds for a week now and there is every apprehension that these birds may die due to starvation.
When they go to market for purchase of feed but the shopkeepers totally refuse saying that the supply of the feed is not coming due to lockdown and their poultry birds are at the verge of starvation and this way they may die with the result the owners will be put to a huge loss.
This correspondent while talking with, poultray owners namely Gardari Singh, Mangal Singh, Vinod Singh residents of village Sumb in district Samba was told that, they are facing lot of difficulties due to non availability of feed for their birds. Due to the non availability of feed their birds are dying. When the lockdown was started that time normal stock to feed was available in their poultry farms and they gave the feed to them for some days. Since the feed is over, neither they are getting it in the market nor any vehicle is coming to their area to supply the feed and the birds are dying hungry.
They said that if the system remains same then in coming days they will face lot of difficulties and their business will perish.
They appealed to Deputy Commissioner, Samba to look into the problem and take necessary steps in arranging feed for the poultry birds to save them from starvation and death.
