Desirous people wishing to have the domicile certificate can,from now onwards have it delivered at their places of residence . It is a people friendly measure aimed at cutting on paying visits to the concerned offices of Tehsildarsafter the application with all the documents and papers was submitted in the concerned offices.
While we commend this move of Jammu district administration, the list of the specific post offices where particular type of pre- printed envelopes serving as self address which have to be purchased by the applicants, is yet to be issued. These envelopes have to be filled in with full address of the applicant along with pin-code etc and attached with the application to facilitate pin pointed and correct delivery of this vital document. The other measure to have it delivered through mobile vans etc as door step service, the first of its kind in the UT, needs to be extended to all localities.
