Porter’s foot blown up in mine blast

MENDHAR, Nov 18: An Army porter was seriously injured in a mine blast in forward area of Mankote in district Poonch.
Defence sources said that one Mohd Rafiq, son of Mohd Sayeed resident of Dabraj was working as porter with a local unit deployed near the LoC in Mankote area. As the porter was carrying some food material to a forward post, he over stepped a mine and his left foot was blown up in the explosion. He was taken to nearby unit and later airlifted to command hospital, Udhampur.
