Poonch suffers badly due to development deficit: Jan

POONCH, Feb 3: National Conference today said that development deficit has affected Poonch district as previous State Government failed to come up with any solid approach for the people of this border district.
Addressing public meeting at Bandichechiyan in Poonch today, provincial president of Youth National Conference, Ajaz Jan (ex-MLA) said that NC Government started several vital projects for Poonch which were shelved by previous Government thereby putting the district in a State of governance deficit.
He further said that many new administrative units were also opened by the then NC Government in second phase but previous Government even shelved these units as well. Jan said that community development block was also setup at Nangali Sahib by NC led Govt and people are receiving immense benefit of it.
Jan asked the party cadre to intensify their mass contact programme as elections are few months ahead and some forces are working to divide people on the name of caste and religion. He also cautioned the people to remain alert and not to fell prey to the designs of such forces.
Earlier, people from the area highlighted their issues and complained about various vital developmental projects been put to halt by previous Government. They also raised their issues related to water and power.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included – Bagh Hussain Rathore, Sayeed Khurshid Hussain Shah, Ishaq Khan, Najab Din Dar, Abdul Ahad Bhat, Sarajdin, Mashooq Khan, Ch Saleem Khari, Alaf Din Dar, Ch Yousaf, Ch Mohd Din Chowan, Ch Shabir, Mohad Shabir Rathore, Rashid Shah Puria, Narinder Singh Talwar, Jajgeet Singh, Parvinder Singh, Nishu Sharma, Abdul Ahad Kamrat, Mohidin Malik, Raj Sharma, Saleem Qazi, Thakur Shivratan, Javid Qazi, Yaseen shah, Khalil Lone, Molvi Sadiq, Shoket Hussain, Zakir Hussain and Nazir Shawayar.
