JAMMU, Apr 5: On the occasion of the 41st annual session of the FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), Poonam Sharma assumed office as the 42nd national president of FLO.
FLO is the women’s wing of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and is considered the oldest and most prominent women-led business chamber in Southeast Asia.
Speaking on the occasion, Poonam Sharma said, “Under my leadership, FLO will aim to amplify the voice of women, a voice that not only challenges societal norms but also influences policy-making and economic decisions. We will create an environment where women become self-reliant, lead from the front, and spark a revolution in the field of entrepreneurship.”
Sharma’s tenure as FLO’s national president will extend through 2025–26.
During her term, she will lead various programs and initiatives focused on advancing women’s leadership and economic participation.
Her priorities will include boosting women’s engagement in both rural and urban areas, promoting skill development, supporting startups, and encouraging policy-level decisions that favor women’s interests.
Poonam is a successful and progressive woman entrepreneur in the field of health and wellness. She comes from the Baidyanath Group family, a prestigious and historic brand known for Ayurvedic products.
As the president of FLO, she will focus on connecting women with the power of new thinking and innovation, making them part of decision-making processes and strengthening their role in shaping future policies.
FLO provides a platform for women to develop their professional potential and play a significant role in the mainstream of socio-economic development.
It was established in 1983 as a division of FICCI.
Its headquarters is in New Delhi and it currently has 20 active chapters across India.
The organization represents more than 13,000 women entrepreneurs, professionals and corporate leaders.
