Pollution on rise

Sir,
Jammu and Srinagar cities are getting polluted day by day to the dangerous level. We usually see in the evening hours a column of harmful gases hovering  over Jammu city. It is visible clearly from Vikram Chowk area towards Jammu old city and in Srinagar over the downtown area and over  famous Dal Lake.
The release of harmful gases from factories in Bari Brahmna area old diesel run vehicles under use especially trucks and old buses which have completed their life tenure since long as per norms of transport department  is a cause of concern.
Similarly land pollution is also on the rise in Jammu surroundings. Soil can gets damaged by dumping of chemicals, toxic other wastes as well as over use of pesticides and fertilisers . Polluted land is unsafe for people and animals to live on and for growing food plants .  Water pollution is worst pollution observed in J&K as various chronic diseases of liver , stomach and intestines have been detected among patients.  The people of our state are consuming polluted water to a great extent which is dangerous but still no strict check on the water reservoirs is maintained.  We see River Tawi and River Jhelum of J&K over polluted. All the wastes of the cities is going into these rivers but administration is silent on all this.
It is suggested that administration in J&K should enforce strict laws on all defaulters that is old vehicles owners and factories and those who dump waste in River Tawi and farmers of J&K to adopt organic farming atleast to get some relief from pollution.
Yours etc……..
