JAMMU: Union Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that the political parties which are boycotting the upcoming Urban Local Body and Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir have already accepted their defeat.
“Boycotting the elections means that these parties have realized that they have lost peoples’ support,” Dr Singh told reporters at the sideline of a function in Kathua district.
He further added that it is quite lamenting that those parties which have always demanded autonomy for them have been disapproving of the empowering of the basic units of democracy.
“BJP believes that essence of democracy lies in the strengthening the system at grass root level,” said the Union Minister.(AGENCIES)
