RAJOURI, Dec 16: A middle aged political activist was allegedly shot at by some unknown persons at village Daraj in Kandi area of district Rajouri last night.
Official sources said that 38-year-old Ranjit Singh, said to be associated with Apni Party was allegedly shot at by some uknown persons near his house at Daraj village under Kotranka police jurisdiction last night. He sustained bullet injury with the country made rifle and was rushed to Kotranka hospital by the family members.
The Medical staff provided preliminary treatment at CHC Kandi and then referred him to GMC Hospital Rajouri during morning hours. The police said that some old enemity was believed to be the reason behind the incident. Two suspects claimed to have been picked up by police for questioning. A case has been registered at Kotranka Police Station in this connection.
