JAMMU, Oct 7: A constable of J&K Armed Police was killed this evening in a road mishap in Narwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the Constable (Belt No- ARP 925682) identified as Muneer Hussain, who was posted at 4th Battalion of J&K Armed Police, was killed on the spot after the bike bearing registration number JK11A- 3965 on which he was going, was hit from backside by a truck bearing registration number JK13C-4137 at Narwal chowk in city outskirts.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for conducting postmortem tomorrow.
A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station. Besides, both the vehicles involved in the accident have been seized and driver of the truck identified as Javed son of Abdul of Noorpura (Tral) arrested.
