SRINAGAR: A policeman was killed and another was injured when militants attacked a police post in south Kashmir district of Shopian tonight.
Official sources said militants opened fire when police guards resisted their move to loot their weapons at Jamnagri in Shopian tonight. Two police guards were injured, they said, adding the injured were rushed to hospital where one of them succumbed. The condition of another injured is also stated to be critical.
A massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the attack. However, there was no report of harm to minorities living in the village. It was not immediately clear if the militants managed to decamp with weapons. (AGENCIES)
