JAMMU, May 5: A jawan of police was injured when a group of people belonging to a particular community pelted stones on a police team at Nikkian area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Khour.
According to the reports, to probe a case of snatching of a vehicle, a team of police had gone in village Nikkian this afternoon. However, when they reached there, locals resorted to stone pelting in which a jawan was injured. He was shifted to a nearby hospital from where after providing first aid he was later discharged.
Meanwhile, the officer said that a mysterious fire broke out in the area in which two temporary houses (kullas) gutted. Later, the fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
