Police works out theft cases, recovers stolen property

DODA, May 27: Police here today worked out two theft cases and recovered stolen property worth lakhs at Bhaderwah and Gandoh.
Giving details, Doda Police said that a complaint was lodged at Police Station Bhaderwah by one Aqib Iqbal, son of Javed Iqbal, resident of Dandi Bhaderwah regarding theft of mobile phones by some unknown persons after break opening the locks of his shop on the intervening night of May 21-22, 2023.
An FIR with No. 61/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah in this regard and a team of Police led by PSI Ankush Sharma after getting clues apprehended two thieves who during investigation confessed their involvement in the theft and on their disclosure 16 Mobile Phones along with accessories worth Rs. 2,17,234 were recovered. Involvement of these thieves in other theft cases is also being investigated.
Another FIR with no. 46/2023 was registered at Police Station Gandoh on the complaint by BDO Chilli Pingal regarding theft of motor of shredder machine from Bus Stand Chilli Pingal which was allotted to Block Chilli Pingal and was to be transported for its installation. After investigation by a team headed by SHO Gandoh Inspector Vikram Singh two suspects Binyamein, son of Mir Ali, resident of Chilli Balla Gandoh and Shabir Ahmed, son of Ali Hussain, resident of Chilli Balla Gandoh were rounded up and during questioning they admitted their involvement in the theft.
On their disclosure, the stolen motor worth Rs. 2 lakh was recovered.
Investigation of both the cases was in progress.
