JAMMU, Dec 26: Police worked out a burglary case with the arrest of a thief and recovery of stolen gold ornaments wighting around 5 tolas.
According to SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan, a team was constituted by the SSP Jammu for the investigation of burglary case registered with police station Bakshi Nagar.
During investigation, the team caught one person namely Rajinder Singh alias Billu, son of Sohal Singh of Panasa, district Reasi, SP added.
SP further disclosed that the arrested person broke down and confessed to commit the crime.
“On his disclosure, stolen gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 5,000 of the said case were recovered. The value of recovered ornaments is approximately Rs.1.5 lakh”, he added.
With the arrest of the accused, a case registered under FIR number 136/14 under Section 457 and 380 RPC with police station Bakshi Nagar has been solved, SP said, adding that further investigation is going on and some more recoveries are likely to be effected in near future.
