Srinagar, Dec 30: Police today said they have solved three cases of burglary by arresting seven burglars and recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police spokesman said following some reports of burglary incidents in Sopore and adjacent areas, a joint team from two police stations was constituted.
“Owing to this, night patrolling and Nakas were intensified in Sopore Town and Tarzoo-Amargarh areas. During patrolling, a suspicious’ Sumo vehicle was found parked near Sopore Hospital boarded with two persons. They were questioned thoroughly; their movement and other activities were analyzed. On checking their call detail reports a gang of burglars was unearthed,” he said, adding that the theft cases vide FIR numbers 69/2015 of police Station Dangiwacha, 70/2015 of Police Station Bomai and 139/2015 of Police Station Tarzoo were solved.
“The Police teams arrested seven burglars identified as, Manzoor Ahmad Cheechi, Aijaz Ahmad Wani, Ghulam Hassan Cheechi, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Irshad Ahmad Bhat and Aqib Ahmad Dar,” the spokesman said, adding that a huge quantity of stolen goods which included woolen clothes, copper utensils, mobile phones, solar lights, batteries etcetera were recovered from the arrested burglars on their instance.
