SRINAGAR, June 27: Police today seized a pickup van used by the burglars who tried to decamp with cattle in Patalbagh, Awantipora.
During the intervening night of Wednesday some unidentified burglars broke into the cowshed of Bashir Ahmed Yatoo, son of Abdul Rehman of Patalbagh, Awantipora, and decamped with some cattle, police said.
However, the villagers got alerted and chased the burglars. The burglars managed to escape leaving behind a pickup van bearing registration number JK03D/2892. Police seized the vehicle used in the burglary. An FIR under Section 457, 380 RPC was registered and investigation has been started, they said.
