BGM expresses concern over plight of nomadic population

DRASS, June 27: Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha (BGM) has expressed deep concern over the plights of nomadic population facing numerous problems during migration to upper reaches.
In a statement, President of BGM, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal expressed anguish over the Government for neglecting the nomadic Gujjars and Bakerwals, particularly those who along with their livestock migrate towards Drass and Zanskar in district Kargil.
Poswal said that these nomads from across the State migrate towards Drass and Zanskar during the month of March and April every year along with their livestock.
He said that there are no medical facilities enroute neither for them nor for their livestock, there are no mobile schools to provide education to the children and there are no veterinary centres.
He demanded redressal to the aforesaid problems at the earliest.
