JAMMU, May 2: In a significant breakthrough, police have got some leads in series of blasts in Rajouri district and was gradually coming to a conclusion that some local youths are behind them with terror angle not ruled out.
“No cross-border or Kashmir link has been found so far in a number of explosions which took place in the border district of Rajouri including four in Koteranka-Budhal belt in the months of March and April,” police sources told the Excelsior.
They said the investigators were gradually coming to the conclusion that some local youth were behind the explosions which were caused by locally assembled devices.
“It’s now confirm that blasts were triggered by crude devices and not IEDs or grenades,” sources said.
Special teams of Rajouri Police as well as other security and Intelligence agencies are working together to reach to the accused responsible for the blasts though a breakthrough remained elusive so far.
Sources said multiple teams of Police, security forces and Intelligence agencies are engaged in investigations to reach to the accused and they are confident of making some arrests shortly.
Four blasts took place in Koteranka-Budhal belt in the months of March and April. While first two blasts didn’t cause casualties and damage, in two other explosions; a non-local couple from Uttar Pradesh and two workers of a tent house were injured.
Sources, however, confirmed that all four explosions were caused by crude devices. Therefore, cross-border or Kashmir angles have been ruled out.
However, the possibility that the local youth might be causing blasts at the instructions of Kashmiri militants isn’t ruled out.
