JAMMU, Sept 26: Jammu police under “Operation Muskaan” traced out a missing person hailing from Nagpur, Maharashtra and reunited him with his family members after 20 years.
As per police sources, on September 23 this year, a person was found roaming in village Allah, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Arnia and 62 Battalion BSF.
The middle aged person was apprehended near ditch-cum-bund in village Allah area and handed over to Police Station Arnia for further investigation.
During preliminary enquiry conducted by SHO Police Station Arnia Inspector Satish Kumar under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal, the whereabouts of the said person were traced out with the help of Marathi language known BSF jawan.
The person has been identified as Hari Chand Yadav Rao Mahare (52), son of Yadav Rao Mahare, a resident of Chichala Tehsil Ramtek, district Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Accordingly SHO Arnia made a contact with SHO Police Station Ramtek Inspector Yogesh Pardi and came to know that the said person was missing from his home for the past 20 years. The family members of the missing persons were informed and today his son namely Ranjeet Hari Chand Mahare, brother Shiv Charan Mahare and other family members reached Jammu.
After completing all formalities, the missing person was handed over to family members.
