KATHUA, Oct 12: To check bovine smuggling menace, a manhunt was launched by Police here under the supervision of SSP Kathua, R.C Kotwal and 20 bovines were rescued today in this regard and a truck involved in the crime was also seized at national highway in Rajbagh.
A police team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra, SHO Police Station Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan during special checking duty at national highway Rajbagh noticed a truck bearing number JK02AR-0566 moving suspiciously and driven by an unknown person from Punjab and proceeding towards Kashmir.
When the vehicle was signaled to stop, the driver managed to escape but on its checking cops succeeded in rescuing 20 bovines from the vehicle.
An FIR with No. 203/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh in this regard and investigation started.
