Police rescues 18 bovines, arrests 2, seizes vehicle

KATHUA, Oct 26: Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal has been acting tough against the illegal activities of bovine smugglers within the district and rescued 18 bovines in the jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police Station (PS), two persons were arrested and one vehicle was seized as well.
Police said In the wee hours today, a team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra SHO, PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan while on naka checking duty at NHW Rajbagh noticed the movement of one suspicious truck bearing Registration Number JK02BT-6357 enrouted from Kathua towards Samba which was being driven by person namely Nisaar Ahmed, son of Ghulam Kader Khan who was along with his accomplice namely Showket Ahmed Mughal son of Abdul Reyaz Mughal both of Doru district Anantnag.
During physical checking, 18 bovines were found to be loaded in the vehicle in a cruel manner. Thereafter, the police team was able to rescue 18 bovines which were presumably being taken without any legal permission, two persons were arrested and one vehicle was seized as well. By taking this cognizance, a case FIR 211/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered at Rajbagh Police Station and further investigation has been started.
