Police recovers missing carbine

SRINAGAR, Aug 26: Police today arrested a man in North Kashmir and recovered a carbine that had gone missing from a cop of Railway Police in Magan area of Central Kashmir district of Budgam in January this year.
A police party of Police Station Parimpora, Srinagar, led by Station House Officer (SHO), Ghulam Mohidin, raided several areas of Magam and arrested Barkat Hussain Hajam and recovered a carbine rifle from his possession.
It may mentioned here that on January 12, Police, have arrested a Railway Police constable as his service carbine has gone missing in Magam area while he was on duty on the Railway track on January 11.
The Railway Police Constable Bashir Ahmad of Tangmarg was on duty and had reported without his service carbine to his office on January 11. He had told at the office that his carbine was snatched by militants. The constable was then handed over to the local Police.
