Police recover stolen property worth Rs 30 lakh in last one month: SP South

JAMMU, Apr 19: The South Zone of Jammu Police achieved a major success by recovering 8 stolen vehicles and property worth about Rs 21 lakh in last 30 days. The total value of recovery is around Rs 30 lakh.
This was stated by SP South Zone Jammu, Ajay Sharma while addressing a press conference, here today. He said this has become possible by the hard work put in by Sudhir Sadhotra (SHO Gandhinagar), Sushil Sharma (SHO Satwari) and Harmohindar Singh (SHO Gangyal), under the guidance of Vinod Kumar (SSP Jammu).
Giving details of the recoveries, Ajay Sharma disclosed that Police Station Gandhinagar recovered stolen gold ornaments worth about Rs 9 lakh from a thief Viney Kumar Chouhan of Geeta Colony (Jalandhar) while 3 stolen bikes were recovered by Police Post Nehru Market on the disclosure of the thief Mohd Akram alias Akri of Gole Gujral (Jammu).
He informed that a stolen auto worth more than Rs 2 lakh was recovered on the disclosure of accused person namely Sunny Kumar by Gandhinagar Police, besides solving a theft case in which one mobile phone, two smart watches and cash of Rs 5,000 was recovered from a thief namely Arun Bhandari of Valmiki Colony (Jammu).
The SP revealed that Police Station Gangyal also arrested a thief namely Sandeep Singh of Nandwal (Raipur, Satwari) and recovered stolen machinery worth Rs 6.50 lakh on his disclosure. He added one thief namely Arun Mehta of Sainik colony was also arrested by Gangal Police and stolen items worth Rs 1.5 lakh were recovered.
Sharma further informed that Satwari Police recovered a stolen motorcycle within 24 hours by arresting two thieves namely Sushil Kumar alias Raju of Simbal and Vicky Kumar of RS Pura.
