Police Raising Day celebrated

JAMMU, June 12:  Raising Day of Jammu Kashmir Police was celebrated today by various units of the Police by taking out impressive parades and organizing Police Darbars besides launching week long programmes.
On the occasion of Raising Day, DPL Samba conducted a Police Darbar in the premises of District Police Lines at Shah Balode. The Darbar was chaired by District SP Samba Anil Magotra and also attended by Suresh Kumar, DySP DAR DPL Samba, 23 NGOs and 107 jawans of DPL Samba.
SP Samba briefed all the officers and officials present in the Darbar and said that leave is the right of each & every Jawan subject to certain conditions and should be given time to time. Accordingly DySP DAR Samba was advised on spot to redress leave issues of the jawans at his own after observing prescribed 10 percent leave quota.
On the occasion, all the jawans were  briefed that they should strictly follow the uniform pattern, keep themselves well maintained as well as disciplined and be alert while performing duties on each deployment. After the conclusion of Darbar, SP Samba inspected M I Room, DPL Mess, Kot, Barracks of the Jawans, MT Section and also the office chamber of DySP DAR DPL, Samba.
To mark the Police Raising Day, the jawans of JKAP 14th Batalion, Miran Sahib today held a ceremonial parade at the battalion headquarters. The Commandant of the Battalion, SP Anil Katoch along with the Deputy Commandant SP Vinay Kumar took the salute.
On the occasion, a weeklong awareness programme has also been kicked  off which will include debate on human rights, anti-tobacco programme, yoga camp, police route march, cultural programme, police public meet, etc.
The week is being celebrated as Police Public contact week in which people’s co-operation and their active participation in maintaining peace and tranquility has been sought.
Naseem Akhter, DySP, Quartermaster Behari Lal, DySP, along with officers and jawans participated in the ceremonial parade.
Parade was organized in DPL Kathua to celebrate Police Raising Day.   Mohan Lal, SP Kathua, Yogesh Sharma, Addl  SP Kathua,  Mushim Ahmad, DSP Hqrs. Kathua,  Sanjeev Kumar DSP DAR, officers from PTS, CRPF, IRB Haryana  and  member of civil society attended the parade.
On this occasion, SP Mohan Lal conveyed good wishes to the Jawans and their families. He also paid rich tributes to the martyrs and extended well wishes to their families. He further enjoined upon all the officers and officials to work with great zeal & zest to uphold the rule of law under all circumstances and serve the people with dedication and sincerity.
After the raising day parade a Darbar of Jawans was held in which Mohan Lal gave a patient hearing to the problems faced by the Jawans for on spot mitigation of the grievances.
Indian Reserve Police 1st Bn Reasi  is observing  2014 Police Raising Week. In the  opening address, the Commandant IR 1st  R C  Mannotra threw light on the history of  J&K Police since 1873. He also conducted Darbar with the Jawans/officials where the later  raised number  of issues.
The opening ceremony was attended by various officials. Welcome address was delivered by  Imtiaz Ahmed-DySP while  vote of thanks was presented by  Ravi Gupta-SP.
In the evening, a friendly volley ball match was conducted at the BN volley ball court Reasi.
In pursuance to the weeklong activates being carried out by District Police Udhampur on Raising Day of J&K Police. a ‘Shabil’ was  organised today in front of  the main gate of District Police Headquarters Udhampur. During the week, the District Police  has planned cleanliness drive in association with Municipal Council Udhampur on June 13, seminar on awareness against dowry menace at Panchari on June 14, a T-20 cricket match on June 15 at Subash Stadium Udhampur, a volley ball match at Basantgrah,  cultural com-Youth conference and  seminar com debates at Chenani.
IRP-19th Battalion celebrated  the Police Raising Day by organizing a colourful ceremonial parade wherein Commandant, Dalip Kumar (SP) was the chief guest. Dy Commandant Shivdeep Singh (SP) and other ranks were also present on the occasion.
In connection with the Police Raising Day, the IRP-19th Battalion has planned various activities, which include cleanliness drive in nearby nallah, display and demonstration of small arms, painting competition for the children, a free health checkup camp for senior citizens of nearby villages, etc.
