Police official among two killed, 2 injured in accidents

JAMMU, Nov 6: Two persons including a police official were killed while two others were injured today in separate road accidents occurred on city outskirts.
According to a police official, a Head Constable of J&K Police namely Rakesh Kumar (49) son of Tirth Ram of Mishriwala, got severe injuries this evening when a bike he was riding, was hit by an unknown vehicle at Domana on Jammu-Akhnoor Road near Karan Palace.
He said the injured cop was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body was sent for postmortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Domana and further investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, in a hit and run case occurred at Patnitop Chowk near post office in Trikuta Nagar area, where a speeding Scorpio vehicle hit a bike, two persons including the bike rider namely Sahil (30) son of Krishan Dass of Bishnah and pillion rider Manisha (20) daughter of Krishan Lal of Marble Market (Trikuta Nagar) received serious injuries.
Both the injured persons were immediately shifted to GMCH Jammu, where Sahil was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Trikuta Nagar and further investigation started.
Another road accident occurred today at Phinder area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Miran Sahib, where two speeding bikes collided with each other. In the mishap, one person namely Prashant (20) son of Nek Raj of Salehar (Bishnah) sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to GMCH Jammu, where his condition was stated to be critical. Miran Sahib police had taken cognizance of the matter.
