Police nabs accused in hit & run case within hours of incident

KATHUA Oct 18: Kathua Police acting swiftly in a hit & run case apprehended the accused driver within hours of incident.
Incident took place on National Highway near Hatli Morh when accused driver namely Vinod Kumar, son of, Darshan Kumar of Thathi, Udhampur who was rashly and negligently driving his vehicle bearing Registration No JK14D-6544 hit a pedestrian causing serious injuries to him and fled away from the spot.
A Police team of Police Post Hatli led by Sub Inspector, Maninder Singh incharge Police Post Hatli acted swiftly and chased the vehicle and apprehended the accused within hour of the incident.
The seriously injured person who was identified as Jagdish Raj, son of Sansar Chand of Govindsar near Raliway Station  Kathua was immediately shifted to District Hospital Kathua from the spot where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police registered a case FIR No 388/2018 U/S 279/304A RPC against the accused driver and seized the vehicle.
