Police lied before HC on arrest of leaders: Shah

SRINAGAR, Nov 6: A day after High Court dismissed the plea of three political leaders alleging they are under house arrest, Aaliya Shah, today said that Government lied before the Court and they are still under house arrest and not allowed to move out.
Shah, granddaughter of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, today gave slip to Police and briefed media about house arrest of senior National Conference leader, Dr Mustafa Kamal and Muzaffer Ahmad Shah and Khalida Shah.
She said that all the three are on the main entrance of their houses and they are trying to come out but heavy presence of Police is not allowing them. “Is Police bigger than the High Court? Police lied in the court about their house arrest. Court didn’t pull up them and we had to raise the issue before the media”, she said.
“We produced videos and photographs before the Court about their house arrest. But no heed was paid to it. Now when they (leaders) are asking them (Police) that they want to come out if they are not under house arrest, they don’t allow them. They say it is for their safety that we are not allowed to come out”, she said.
