Police holds Badminton C’ship in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, Oct 16: In a vibrant display of sportsmanship and community engagement, the Range Police Headquarters Baramulla organized a two-day Badminton Championship under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024-25 at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Baramulla.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from 50 young athletes representing all districts of North Kashmir Range-Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Handwara and Sopore. Players competed in Singles and Doubles formats across both Boys and Girls categories, showcasing skill, energy, and discipline.
DIG North Kashmir Range Maqsood-ul-Zaman graced the occasion as chief guest, commending the efforts to promote youth development through sports. He encouraged participants to remain focused, disciplined, and strive for excellence in every walk of life.
Other dignitaries present included SSP Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh, SP Headquarters. Baramulla K.K. Hari Prasad, ASP Headquarters, Neha Jain senior officers from the Range and District Police Offices, SHO Baramulla and officials from the Sports Department. The championship concluded with a colourful prize distribution ceremony, where winners, runners-up, and all participants were felicitated with medals, certificates and cash prizes.
