Srinagar, Feb 10: As a part of “Choona Hai Aasmaan” talent hunt programme organized by Jammu and Kashmir police across the State, two events were held in Srinagar and Ganderbal.
A police spokesman said in Srinagar a singing competition was held in District Police Lines in which singers from different parts of city participated. “Seniors police officers and officials of Srinagar district witnessed the event. The certificates and trophies were distributed among the winners of the competition by the chief guest of the occasion Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Waseem Qadri,” he said.
Iqbal Gulzar bagged the first position, Malik Waheed 2nd and Basit Mushtaq third position in the competition, the spokesman said.
In Ganderbal, he said, more than 60 young artists performed in different competitions including singing, dancing etcetera that was held at Qamaria Model School. “The programme was witnessed by police officers including Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganderbal Imtiyaz Ismayil Parray, Additional SP Ganderbal Shiv-Deep Singh, Deputy SP (Headquarters) Rasik Mir, Deputy SP Rajinder Singh Rahi, Station House Officer Ganderbal, Asif Iqbal and large number of respectable of the district,” the spokesman said.
SP Ganderbal Imtiyaz Ismayil Parray distributed trophies among the winners of the event, he said, adding that the participants who were selected in these events will be representing District Srinagar and Ganderbal in Range level competition.
