KATRA, June 28: Foiling an attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town, Katra Police today arrested a bootlegger and seized 40 pouches of liquor from his possession.
Acting on a specific input, a Police team headed by SHO Katra, Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, laid a special naka at Nomain and intercepted one Maruti car bearing Registration number JK20-0205, driven by Suresh Kumar of Panthal Katra.
During checking, the police team recovered 40 poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each, of J&K Excise liquor from the car. Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered liquor as well as the car.
In this connection, a case FIR number 117/2016 U/S 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC has been registered at Police Station Katra.
