Police drive against violators of traffic rules

UDHAMPUR, Sept 28: In order to make National Highway free from jamming and to ensure observance of lane discipline, Udhampur Police launched a drive against traffic rules violators.
In coordination with the teams of Traffic Police, led by DySP Ajay Jamwal and Police Station Rehmbal/Udhampur, led by Inspector Paramjeet Singh and Inspector Sanjeev Chib, number of trucks were challaned, which were moving/parked in wrong tube/ lane on the National Highway in Battal Ballian, Malhar area. 108 vehicles, most of them trucks, were challaned and fine to the tune of Rs 83,800/- was realized.
Police did this to prevent trucks from double laning, especially on wrong tube, which thereby caused choking of the whole NHW as well as by-pass NHW/ Dhar road/ Battal Ballian / Jakheni as well as Udhampur town.
The drive would continue and be made stricter to ensure that the rules are followed.
