SAMBA, Feb, 2: District Police Samba has booked and detained two notorious criminals under the J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) for their criminal activities on the detention orders issued by the District Magistrate Samba.
The accused namely Yogeshwar Singh, alias Jaibu son of Yashpaul Singh and Shiv Raj Singh alias Raju son of Ishar Singh both residents of UdhMandi, GurhaSlathia, tehsil Vijaypur district Samba were booked for their criminal activities in the area for which a number of cases were registered against them in the Police Station, Vijaypur.
Police said both the accused are notorious criminals and are continuously involved in a number of criminal activities. They have become a threat to the peaceful atmosphere and also posing great threat to the public peace and tranquility thereby forcing authorities to detain them under J&K Public Safety Act (JKPSA).
Besides, both the accused are involved in illicit trafficking of Narcotics Drugs Psychotropic Substances destroying the future of young generation by supplying them narcotics and affecting their physical and mental health, police said.
Keeping in view of their repeated involvement in criminal and drug smuggling activities, dossiers were prepared by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Samba and forwarded to District Magistrate, Samba who formally issued the orders of their detention under the J&K Public Safety Act. The detention warrants were executed by the Police team of PS Vijaypur and the accused Yogeshwar Singh alias Jaibu son of Yashpaul Singh of UdhMandi, GurhaSlathia Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba has lodged in District Jail Amphalla, Jammu whereas accused Shiv Raj Singh alias Raju son of Ishar Singh also of UdhMandi, GurhaSlathia tehsil Vijaypur, district Samba has lodged in District Jail Kathua.
