BARAMULLA, May 29: Police on Wednesday solved a theft case by arresting one accused person and recovering stolen property from him in J&K’s Baramulla.
Police said they received a written application from Shakeel Ahmad Parray, a resident of Garkote Uri, stating that during the intervening night of April 22, some unknown thieves entered his house and took away cash and gold items.
On receipt of this complaint, a case FIR under relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Uri, and the investigation was taken up.
During the course of the investigation, many suspects were picked up, and during questioning, one suspected person, identified as Imran Ahmad Parray, a resident of Balkote Uri, confessed his involvement in the commission of the crime.
On his disclosure, stolen property, including golden rings, golden ear rings, mobile phones, and cash worth Rs 20,000, were recovered. The accused has been arrested.
Further investigation is going on, police said. (Agencies)
