RAMBAN, Sept 11: Police here today has solved the blind triple murder case and arrested the main culprit.
As per the case on September 9, 2025, an information was received at Police Station Banihal that three dead bodies were lying under a culvert at NH-44 Rattanbass, Banihal.
Police registered a case in FIR No. 95 of 2025 under Sections 103 BNS and started investigation.
Cops led by SDPO Banihal and SHO Banihal immediately reached the spot, preserved the scene of crime and called FSL team, crime photographer and also informed the senior Police officers.
On the arrival of senior officers and FSL team, the scene of crime was minutely inspected and after careful examination, evidences were marked, photographed, and packaged appropriately in the presence of witnesses.
The unidentified dead bodies were of a lady (aged 30-32 years), a girl child, 9, and a boy child, 5, with visible injury marks and pieces of elongated cloth tied around their necks.
The dead bodies were shifted to SDH Banihal and request was made to BMO for constituting a board of doctors to conduct the post-mortem and other formalities.
A special investigation team headed by SDPO Banihal was constituted which after hectic efforts picked a suspect Anil Kumar, son of Sudhir Sahni, resident of Bihar from Mir Bazar falling under Police Station Qazigund District Kulgam.
Later, the deceased persons were identified as Dhanmati Devi, wife of Late Nand Kishore, resident of Bihar and her nine years old daughter Suhani Kumari and her five years old son Yash Kumar.
Police said after sustained questioning and cross-examination based on scientific evidence, the accused admitted his guilt.
Further investigation was in progress.
