JAMMU, Oct 21: Police Commemoration Day/National Police Day was observed by Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) with enthusiasm and zeal.
District Police Udhampur today observed Police Commemoration Day at DPL to pay rich tributes to the police martyrs, who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation. Garib Dass, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range presided over the function and offered guard of honour in presence of Anil Magotra, SP, Khalil Ahmed Poswal, new Additional SP, Benam Tosh, outgoing Additional SP, Suram Singh, DySP Dar, family members of police martyrs, retired police personnel and citizens. Gift packs were given to all the family members of police martyrs by District Police, Udhampur.
District Police Reasi observed Police Commemoration Day at DPL. Police and CRPF contingent took part in the Commemoration Day parade. DC Reasi, Additional DC, Tehsildar, Tehsildar Settlement, Lieutenant Colonel, Administrative officers, family members of the martyrs and citizens also participated in the function.
District Police Poonch observed Police Commemoration Day at District Police Lines. On the occasion, Jahangir Mir, MLC, Bashir Ahmed Naaz, Vice Chairman, G&B Advisory Board, Commander 93 Infantry Brigade, Commander 6 Sector RR, DDC Poonch Sajjad Ahmed, district officers, Sarpanchs, citizens, retired police personnel and family members of the martyred police personnel paid tributes to the martyrs of police and other security forces, who laid down their lives for the sake of the nation. Later SP Poonch flanked by DySP Headquarters, DySP Dar, DySP Operations and officials of various NGOs visited the memorial site of DySP Manjeet Singh and paid floral tributes.
