Police chief review security scenario in north Kashmir

Stressing for cooperation between all law enforcing agencies to safeguard the interests of people, Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar has sought reports with regard to overall security scenario in north Kashmir Range, where  three people were killed and two others injured by unidentified gunmen recently.
Besides, posters have also appeared in the apple township of Sopore dictating people what to wear and what to watch on television. A police spokesman said here this afternoon that during his day-long visit to north Kashmir range, which included Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore and Baramulla Mr Kumar stressed the need for collective measures by all law enforcing agencies.
He asked the police officers and jawans to brace up in the public service wholeheartedly and safeguard the interests of peace loving masses. The visit was aimed at taking stock of the security scenario in North Kashmir. Besides addressing Police Durbar at Kupwara and Baramulla, he chaired meetings of Senior police officers to discuss various measures to be taken for ensuring peace and order in the districts.
The recent subversive incidents by anti social elements to hamper the normal life of the people also came under discussion during the meetings. During the meetings, DGP sought reports with regard to overall security scenario, law and order, anti-militancy operations and crime status in the Range.   Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir,  Garib Dass apprised the DGP about the measures put in place to keep the law and order maintained.
