The aspirants, who had applied for the post of Constables in the border battalion in Jammu region assembled near Press Club here and started protest demonstration. They were demanding conduct of written examination.
The aspirants said that the process was started about three years ago and then abandoned after physical measurement due to Covid. Same was the problem in Kashmir as well. Despite repeated requests to the concerned authorities the process was not resumed till today.
They pointed out that in Punjab border districts this process was started after J&K, and they have already completed this exercise. But it is unfortunate that in J&K, this process is being delayed due to the reason best know to the people at the helm of affairs. They sought the intervention of Lt Governor and Chief Secretary, J&K into the matter.
