Police arrests servant for duping his owner of Rs 1.80 lakh

SAMBA, July 20: Bari Brahmana police has arrested one person accused of dodging his owner for an amount of Rs. 1.80 lac.
Brief facts of the case are that, one shopkeeper namely Pankaj Gupta son of Romesh Gupta of Ward Number 4 Bari-Brahmana running shop of electrical goods at Bari-Brahmana has lodged a written report at PS Bari-Brahmana stating therein that on July 13 this year he sent his shop employee (servant) to draw a cheque of Rs. 1.80 lac from HDFC Bank, Bari-Brahmana who after withdrawing the money from the Bank, narrated that he had kept the withdrawn amount in scooty’s dicky and some unknown person has stolen the scooty along with cash of Rs. 1.80 lakh.
During preliminary enquiry into the matter and from the CCTV footage, it came to fore that the shop employee (servant) namely Aman Singh has mislead his owner and he himself has stolen the scooty along with the withdrawn cash from the bank.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 135/2022 U/ S 406 IPC got registered at PS Bari Brahmana and further investigation started. After hectic efforts, a police team of PS Bari-Brahmana headed by SHO, , Inspector, Rakesh Sharma assisted by SI Sham Lal under the supervision of SDPO, Bari-Brahmana Ms. Shiwali Kotwal has arrested the accused namely Aman Singh son of Mangal Singh of Bassi Khurd, tehsil Bishnah district Jammu.
During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed that he had stolen the scooty bearing Registration Number JK02BM-9950 along with cash amount of Rs.1.80 lac withdrawn from the HDFC Bank, Bari-Brahmana. On his disclosure, Police has recovered two-wheeler and cash amount of Rs. 1.80 lac. Further investigation is going on.
The whole operation was carried out under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan.
